LAWN GAMES AT EDGE - RULES

CORNHOLE

Start

  • Coin toss winner goes first

Play

  • Players alternate turns tossing all four bags
  • Bags must be thrown underhand and thrower cannot step beyond their own board
  • After each team has pitched four bags, teams take score - that completes an “inning”
  • Team that wins the inning starts the next one
  • Teams switch ends between innings

Scoring

  • The team with the higher score earns the difference in points between the two teams
  • Example: Team A scores 5 points and Team B scores 2 points. Team A is awarded 3. Team B is awarded 0 points
  • First to 21 or more wins; no need to win by 2

Points

  • 3pt - Bag in the hole
  • 1pt - Bag on the board
  • 1pt - Hanging bags (over hole or edge)
  • 0pt - Bags touching ground

BOCCE

Start

  • Coin toss winner throws Pallino
  • If Pallino doesn’t reach halfway, other team throws
  • The same team that throws the Pallino throws the first bocce ball

Play

  • Throw from behind the fault line, underhand
  • Balls must travel halfway down the court or are removed
  • Hitting the opponent’s balls is allowed
  • Team closest to Pallino is “In” - the other is “Out”
  • “Out” team throws until they’re “In” or run out of balls
  • All balls must be thrown by both teams

Scoring

  • Award points after all balls are thrown
  • If balls are equally close, the next closest breaks tie
  • First to 11 wins; must win by 2

Points

  • Only the team closest to Pallino scores
  • 1pt - For each ball closer than the opponent’s nearest ball
  • 2pt - “Kiss”: Ball is touching the Pallino

PUTTING POOL

Start

  • Place cue ball one club length from rack and break
  • After break, remove cue ball from play

Game Play

  • Players take turns
  • The first player to sink a ball becomes either stripes or solids
  • One putt per turn
  • Make a putt, putt again
  • To win, be the first to sink six of your balls in the six different pockets
  • If Player A knocks Player B’s ball into a pocket they have not yet hit into yet, the ball stays; if Player B has already hit a ball into that pocket, the ball is placed in the center of the green and Player B can play it on their next turn
